HoopPretty Presents: P.I.Y ~How to make a Circle Scarf Painted with Bleach~
Well, here it goes, my friend. Our first in hopefully many easy, fun, cute, budget-friendly pretty-ing tutorials.
Oh by the way, P.I.Y stands for Pretty It Yourself, ya know, like Do It Yourself…..but prettier.
I hope you enjoy it! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to comment. I started to write this blog post with the hopes of anticipating questions or concerns people might have….but I guess if I knew that I would’ve put it in the video.
But things I would really like to stress:
-OMG….Pleez do NOT spend more than $4 on a shirt for project (if you need to buy a shirt). There should be plenty of lame t-shirts at your local thrift store that need a re-purposing.
-For reeelz…I don’t want you to get a dizzying headache from the bleach. Crack a window or two or three. But even though I reiterated that point, don’t be scared now to paint with bleach. I just care about you, is all, and I don’t want yer brain to hurt.
- I suggest staying simple with your design, because it’s very hard to do detail work with “paint” (bleach/water mixture) that’s so liquidy. It might take you forever if you use your tiny itty bitty brush to make delicate lil roses, and then you’ll for sure get a headache.
Without further ado, here’s the vid:
I hope you like, and I hope it’s a really neato addition to your hoop wear/and or everyday wear!

~Coming Soon~ HoopPretty Presents: PIY
I guess that graphic says it pretty succinctly.
We would like to introduce you to a series of video tutorials on how to make cool stuff that adds to your hooping wear/costuming, or even your everyday wardrobe!
It’s not just DIY, it’s PIY. Because this is HoopPRETTY!
I am excited to share this stuff with you. Aside from creating designs for HP, I really like being crafty.
And it seems like craftiness is BIG in the hooping/performance arts community. So I thought, maybe you guys would like it if I shared this stuff with you? Even if you’re not a Crafty Cathy, I hope that these tutorials are easy enough for you to follow along and perhaps get inspired.
My goal is to repurpose or recycle items to make them into unique, pretty and low-cost wearables.
Stay tuned! I will be posting the first video soon!
