The good ol’ sun is starting to peek out and that means it’s going to be full-on hoop season very very soon! Spring & Summer has traditionally been the best time for hooping and, I, for one, can’t wait for the mushy ground to start to green up and accept my bare feet. Hoop sessions near the lakefront, hoop dance parties in the backyard, impromptu hoop jams! Hells YES!
It’s gonna be one of the most active hoop seasons yet. So what am I doing to prepare? Cleaning, organizing and ditching the old hoop stuff to make room for new hoopy growth.
Here’s some things you can do to prepare for 2011’s hoop season:
- Donate old, dinged-up hoops to the neighborhood kids
- Sell off your old hoops for cheap to generate money for new ones
- Use leftover hoop tape scraps to make a groovy rainbowy “hoop painting”, as I like to call it (see above)
- Get a fancy COLORED polypro hoop from Superhooper! Have the benefits of pretty color, with the challenge of a lightweight hoop! Coils down so you can take it easily on summer road trips.
- Get a new hoop outfit (I’m eyeing-up these purple hooping bloomerz. They’ll go great with our new HoopPretty hooping t-shirt collection! Still a secret… ;) )
- Sell your old heavier LED hoop and treat yourself to something more befitting of your skill level
- Try out some new music for hooping (my favorite lately: LCD Soundsystem Station on Pandora)
- Sign up for a workshop (join us in Maine!)
- Create or buy a new pair of feather earrings (oh my gawd… gorgeous colors below from Owlita)
